ሓጎሳ ዓንደጊዮርጊስ
ሓጎሳ ዓንደጊዮርጊስ፡ ካብ ኣዲኣ ወይዘሮ ዘርፊቱ ጎብሩን፡ ኣቦኣ ኣይተ ዓንደጊዮርጊስ ዓጽማትን ኣብ ኩዶ-ጭራ፡ ሰራየ ተወልደት፡፡ ኣሕዋታ ድማ፡ ሓረጉ ዓንደጊዮርጊስን፡ ኢስሃቕ ዓንደጊዮርጊስን፡ ዘውዲ ዓጽሙን ነበሩ፡፡ ኣቦኣ ብሕጻና ብሞት ስለዝተፈልዩ ተዘክሮ ኣይነበራን፡ ኣብ ሕጻንነታ ካብ’ቶም ኣዝያ ትዝክራን ከም ክቡር ዑንቊ ትሕብሕባን ዝነበረት ንእሽቶ ሓብታ ዘውድየይ ነበረት፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ፡ ኣብ ቁልዕነታ “ዓይኒ ፍንጃል” እናበላ ምስ ዝጽውዕዓ ማሓዙታ፡ ጉያን ሳዕሲዒትን ከም ትፈቱ ዝነበረት’ዩ ዝንገረላ፡፡ መታዓብይታ ምስ እንስሳ-ዘቤት እውን ዝነበራ ተፎጥሮኣዊ ፍቕሪ፡ ኣብ’ቲ ለምለም ሸኻ ተኸላ፡ ኣብ ትጓስየሉ ዝነበረ እዋን ምስኦም ክትጓየን፡ ኣብ ሓደጋ ከይወድቁ ኣብ ምእላዮም ተርእዮ ዝነበረት ተገዳስነትን ይዝክሩ፡፡ ብምኽንያት ኣብ እዋኑ ዝነበረ ባህሊ፡ ሓጎሳየይ፡ ወለዳ ክትማሃር እኳ እንተዘይተፈቕደላ፡ ሙሉቕ እናበለት፡ ኣብ’ቲ ዓቢ ሓዋ ዝማሃረሉ ዝነበረ ክፍሊ ትካታተል ነበረት፡፡ ነቶም ኣዎዳት እናበለጸቶም ምስ ከደት ግን እቲ መምህር ካብ’ቲ ክፍሊ ሶጎጋ፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ ኣብ መጀመርያ 1960ታት ንብርሃነ ተክለማርያም ተመርዕያ፡ ናብ ኣኸርያ፡ ኣስመራ ግዓዘት’ሞ፡ ነዊሕ ከይጸንሔት ንኡንኮ ጓላ፡ ንግስቲ ብርሃነ ወለደት፡፡ ንባህላዊ ጸቕጢ ማሕበረሰብ ተጻዊራ፡ ንሰብኣያ ፈቲሓ፡ ኣብ ፋብሪካ ጨርቃ ጨርቂ፡ ኮሎኒፊቺዮ፡ ጎዳይፍ፡ ኣስመራ፡ እንዳ ባራቶሎ ተቖጺራ፡ ነጻን ዉልቃዊን ሂወታ ክትመርሕ ጀመረት፡፡ ኣካያዲ ስራሕ ባራቶሎ፡ ሮቦርቶ ንሕጎሳየይ ብሁርኩትናኣን ጽፈት ስራሓን የመስግናን ነበረ፡፡
ንግስቲ ግን፡ ምስ ብግዜኡ ከም ንቡር ዝውሰድ ዝነበረ ምስ ኣቦኣ ትነብር ነበረት፡፡ ንግስቲ ነዲኣ ኣዚያ ትናፍቕ ስለ ዝነበረት፡ ካብ ትምህርቲ ዕረፍቲ ኣብ ትወስደሉ እዋናት ምስ ኣዲኣ ተሕልፎ ነበረት፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ ኣዝያ ንእትፈትዋ ንእሽቶ ሓብታ ዘውዲ፡ ካብ ኣኽርያ ሲዒባ’ውን ኣብ ቲራቮሎ ኣብ ትነብረሉ ዝነበረ እዋናት ብቐጻሊ ትበጽሓ ኔራ ኢያ፡፡ ሓጎሳየይ ንደቂ ሓብታ ፡- ይሕደጋ፡ ዮዲት፡ ኣድያም፡ ይርጋኣለም፡ ሰላምን ፉርቱናን፡ እታ ዝተፈትወት ሓትነኤን ኢያ ኔራ፡ ካብ ቁልዕነተን እቲ ምቁር ሕምባሻኣን ቅጫኣን ሒዛ ስለትበጽሔን ዝነበረት፡ ናይ ሓጎሳየይ ፉሉይ ተዝክሮታት ኣለወን፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ ኣብ ኣስመራ ኣብ ጎዳይፍ፡ ዳሕራይ’ውን ኣብ ዕዳጋ-ዓርቢ ትነብረሉ ዝነበረት እዋናትን፡ ምስ ከባቢኣን ጎረባብታን ፡ ብፍላይ ምስ ወይዘሮ ክብራ ገብረክሩስቶስን ብዓልቤተን ኣራፋይነ ተድላን ስድራ ቤቶምን፡ ምስ ፍቕርን ሲኒትን ንዓሰርተታት ዓመታት ኢዮም ኣብ ሓደ ካንሸሎ ነቢሮም፡፡ ኣብ ዓባይ ብሪጣንያ ካብ ትመጽእ’እውን ካብ ኣፋን ሙዉቕ ዝኽራን ተፈልዮም ኣይፈልጡን፡፡
ንቐዳመይቲ ጓልጓላ ጥንስቲ ኣብ ዝነበረትሉ እዋን፡ ድሕሪ ዓሰርተ ዓመት ምፍልላይ፡ ሓጎሳየይ መስከረም 1987 ምስ ንግስቲ ጓላ ብኣካል ተራኸበት፡፡ ካብ ሹዑ ምስ ጓላን ሰብኣይ ጓላ፡ ጠዓመ ተወልደብርሃንን ትነብር ነበረት፡፡ ሓጎሳየይ ንጥፍቲ ዓባየ ስለዝነበረት፡ ንደቂ-ደቃ ሹሻን፡ ኣውራ፡ ዛራን ካብን-ናብን ቤት ትምህርቲ ተማላልሰን ነበረት፡፡ ካብ ትምህርቲ ኣብ ዝምለሳሉ እዋን፡ ከም መወድኢ መገዲ ቡሽኮቲ እናኣኾለሰት ተሳንየን ነበረት፡
ሓጎሳየይ ምስ እንዳ ኣይተ ገዛኢ ተኽለን ንወይዘሮ ሚዛን ተኽለን ምስ ደቆም ሓበንን ሰሰንን ከም ጎረባብቲ ጉሩም ግዜ ኢዩ ሓሊፉ፡፡ ሓጎሳየይ ኩለን ብሓባር ክጻወታ፡ ትምህርተን’ውን ክፈትዋን ክነፍዓን ተታባብዔን ነበረት፡፡ ኣብ ቤትና ዝነብሩ ቆልዑ’ውን ሓጎሳየይ ንኹሎም ንሳ ከም ደቃ፡ ንሳቶም ክኣ ከም ኣዲኦም ጌሮም ኢዮም ዝርእዩዋን ዝፈትውዋን ዝነበሩ፡፡ ብፍላይ ምስ ወይዘሮ ሰሚና በላይ፡ ኣዚዩ ተሪር ቤተሰባዊ ዝምድና ኮይኑ ክሳብ ሕጂ ይቕጽል ኣሎ፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ፡ ብ1989 ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ኤሪትራዊ ኦርቶዶክሳዊት ቤተክርስትያን ካብ ዝተኽፍተሉ ጀሚራ፡ ንጥፍቲ ኣባል ነበረት፡፡ ሰንበት፡ ሰንበት፡ ኣንጊሃ እናተሰኤት፡ ብእግራ ከይዳ፡ ካብ ሰሜን ላንደ ንደቡብ ላንደን 2 ኣውቶቡሳት እናወሰደት፡ ስዓት 5 ናይ ንጉሆ ኣብ ቤተክርስትያን ትበጽሕ ነበረት፡፡ ንሓጎሳየይ ምሸት ቀዳም፡ ክሽነ ንምስንካት ንመግደፍ ዝቐርብ ሕምባሻኣን እንጀራኣን ኢዩ ዝሕዛእ ዝነበረ፡፡ ሓጎሳየይ ትሕዝቶኣ ጽቡቕ፡ ኣስናኽታኣ ዉሕሉል ስለዝነበረ ብማሓዙታ ተፈታዊ ነበረ፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ ንመጀመርያ ግዜኣ ኢያ ብ1990 ንኢየሩሳሌም ዝነገደት፡፡ ብምቕጻል ድሕሪኡ’ውን ሰለስተ እግራ ተማላሊሳ ኢያ፡፡ ናይ መጨረሻ መገሽኣ ብ2019 ንኤሪትራ ኮይኑ፡ ኣብ ገዳም ደብረሲና ተሳሊማ፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ፡ ካብ ትፈትዎም ዝነበሩ መዝናጊዒታት ንምጥቃስ፦ ብእግሪ ምኻድ፡ ምስ ደቂ-ደቃ ምቅላስን ምውዛይን፡ ምንቅስቓስ ኣዕዋፍ ምርኣይ፡ ምስ ስድራቤት ኣብ ህዝባዊ መናፈሻ ዘወር ምባል፡ ኣብ ገዛ ምስ ቤተሰብ ብቡን ምዝንጋዕ፡፡ እተን እትፈትወን ተለቭጅን ምርኢታት፡ Neighbours, Home and Away, Eastenders and Strictly Come Dancing. ንኦለምፒክን ዊንብልደንን እውን ተገዲሳ ትካታተሎ ነበረት፡፡ ደቂ-ደቃ ናእሽቱ ኣብ ዝነበራሉ እዋን፡ ዓርቢ-ዓርቢ ምድላው (Fish and Chips) ደስ ይብላ ነበረ፡፡
ድሕሪ ነዊሕ ዓመታት ካብ ኤሪትራ ወጻኢ ዝነብሩ ቤተሰባ እናበዝሑ ኣብ ዝኸዱሉ እዋን፡ ኣብ ኣገደስቲ ምትእኽኻባት ቤተሰብ፡ ከም መርዓ፡ ምውላድ ሕጻናት፡ ብዓለ-ጥምቀት ሕጻናት፡ ዝኽሪ ዕለተ ልደት፡ ትሳተፍ ነበረት፡፡ ካብ መዘናታት ቤተሰባ ብሂወታ ዝነበረት ንሳ ጥራይ ስለዝኾነት፡ ኩሉ ቤተሰብ ይፈትዋን የኽብራን’ዩ ኔሩ፡፡ ሓጎሳየይ ብፍላይ ምስ ሃብተሚካኤል ሃይለ (ወዲ ሓብታ)፡ ገነት ሃብተጊዮርጊስ ወልዱ (ጓል ወዲ ኣኮኣ)፡ ጽገ ኢስሃቕ፡ ፋና ኢስሃቕ ዮርዳኖስ ኢስሃቕ (ደቂ ሓዋ) ብቐጻሊ ድሃያ ይገብሩ ኔሮም፡፡
ሓጎሳየይ ኣዝያ ሓላይትን ተኻላኻሊትን ደጋፊትን ውላዳን፡ ደቂ-ደቃን ኢያ ኔራ፡፡ ደቂ-ደቃ ንዓባይኤን ከም ናይ ኣዲኤን “መንፈሳዊ ማሓዛ” ጌረን እየን ዝወስዳኣ፡፡ ኣብ ጓላ፡ ዘይላዋወጥን፡ ቅድመ-ኩነታዊነት ወይ ደረት ዘይብሉ ፍቕሪ ኢዩ ኔሩወን፡፡ ኣብ ሂወት ንግስቲ ከም ዱልዱል ዓንዲ ሂወታ ኮይኑ’ውን ዝቕጽልን ኢዩ፡፡
ሓጎሳ፡ ድሕሪ ሓጺር ሕማም፡ ኣብ ቤታ፡ ብጓላን፡ ሰለስቲኤን ደቂ-ደቃን፡ ሰብኣይ ጓላን ተኸቢባ፡ ኣብ ቀዳሞት ስዓታት ወጋሕታ፡ ሮቡዕ 15 ለካቲት 2023 ካብዛ ዓለም ብሞት ተፈልያትና፡፡
Hagosa Andegiorgis was born in Kudo Che’ra, Seraye, to her parents Zerfetu Gebru and Andegirogis Atsmat. Her older sister was Haregu Andegiorgis and her older brother was Isaac Andegiorgis, her younger most treasured little sister was Zewdi Atsmu. Her father passed away before she held any memories of him.
As a child, Hagosayey loved to run, play and dance with other children who would call her “ayni finjal” due to her big beautiful eyes. Hagosayey had an intrinsic bond with animals that began early in her lush Te’hela. Due to social norms in her village, Hagosayey was not allowed to go to school but would often sneak into her brother’s classes. The teacher told her off because she was outsmarting the boys.
Hagosayey married Berhane Teklemariam and moved to Akriya, Asmara in the early 1960s and soon had her only daughter Nigisti Berhane. Ahead of her time, she chose to divorce her husband and follow an independent path working as a textile worker in Cotonificio Baratollo in Godaif, Asmara. The factory manager Roberto Baratollo praised Hagosayey’s hard work and perfectionism.
In line with tradition, Nigisiti was based with her father’s new family and would miss her mother terribly. Nigisti would rush back to Asmara in the school holidays to spend time with her mother.
Hagosayey would visit her sister Zewdiyey who had a growing family in Akriya and later Travolo. She was the favourite aunt of her nieces Yhidega, Yodit, Adiam, Yirgalem, Selam and Furtuna and would often make them her famous himbasha and kitcha.
She loved her neighbourhoods in Asmara, Godaif and later Edaga Arbi, and had strong relationships with her neighbours Kebra Gebre’christos and Araifane Te’la and their family. She spoke of them often with warmth in her later life.
In September 1987, Hagosayey arrived in London and reunited with her daughter, during the pregnancy of her first granddaughter. She lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Teame Tewolde-Berhan. She was an active grandmother who would do school drop-offs and pickups for granddaughters Shushan, Awra and Zara. She would always spoil them with treats for the journey home.
Hagosayey enjoyed living next door to Ghezai Tekle, Mizan Tekle and their children Haben and Sesen. She loved watching all the children play and encouraged games. She also motivated good habits and a love of learning. The family fostered children, she was a mother to all of them, and developed a particularly strong relationship with Semina Belay who she continued to be close with throughout her life.
Hagosayey was an active member of the St. Michael Eritrean Orthodox Church in South London since it first opened in 1989. Waking up in the early hours of the morning, Hagosayey would walk and take two buses from her home in North West London, arriving at her church at 5am every Sunday. Saturday nights were reserved for making her popular himbasha and injera for megdef. Hagosaey was meticulous with her himbasha-making and its delicious taste was much loved by her friends.
Hagosayey made her first religious trip to the Holy Land, Jerusalem, in 1990 and throughout the years returned three more times. Her final religious trip was to Eritrea in 2019 where she visited Debre-Sena Monastery.
Her hobbies were walking, play-fighting and joking with her granddaughters, bird watching, visiting London’s parks and making bun with family. Her favourite shows were Neighbours, Home and Away, Eastenders and Strictly Come Dancing. She was an avid follower of the Olympics and Wimbledon. When her granddaughters were young, she enjoyed making (and eating) chips on Fridays.
Over the years as her family grew in the diaspora, she enjoyed reuniting with them and marking special occasions such as weddings, christenings and birthdays. Often the only representative of her generation, she was adored. Hagosayey was in regular contact with HabteMichael Haile (her nephew), Genet HabteGirgish Woldu (niece), Tsege Issac (niece), Fana Issac (niece) and Yordanos Issac (niece).
Hagosayey was fiercely protective and supportive of her daughter and her granddaughters. Her granddaughters often say she is her daughter’s soulmate. She showed unwavering and unconditional love. She was a stable force in their lives and continues to be.
She passed away at her home after a short illness, surrounded by her daughter, son-in-law and three granddaughters in the early hours of Wednesday 15th February 2023.
